What is the Life Score™?
The Life Score™ is a weekly health tracker in the Lifesum app that evaluates your overall health based on 16 key nutrition and exercise metrics. It provides:
- A comprehensive score (0–150) reflecting your lifestyle habits.
- Personalized feedback highlighting areas where you excel and suggestions for improvement.
How is the Life Score™ calculated?
The score is based on:
- Nutrition: Are you consuming adequate fruits, vegetables, unsaturated fats, and other key food and nutrients?
- Water Intake: Are you staying hydrated and logging your water consumption?
- Exercise: Do you have a balanced mix of activities, including strength, low-intensity, and high-intensity exercises?
Tracking Methods
- Health Test: Complete a 41-question test to receive an initial score. You can retake the test to update your score until you regularly track your habits.
- Daily Tracking: Once you consistently log food, exercise, and water, your score will reflect this tracked data for more accuracy.
- Habit Trackers: Activating habit trackers (e.g., for water, vegetables, fruits) contributes to your score and helps you stay on top of specific goals.
Weekly Score Updates
Your Life Score™ updates every Monday, summarizing your progress and areas for improvement. If you retake the Health Test or log habits consistently, your new score will overwrite the previous one.
What does the score mean?
The Life Score™ ranges from 0 to 150, with these categories:
- Optimal (120–150): Excellent balance in nutrition, hydration, and exercise.

- Good (60–90): A solid foundation with areas to strengthen.
- Imbalanced (30–60): Significant adjustments are needed.
- Off Track (0–30): Considerable lifestyle changes are required.
The app also compares your score to the previous week and displays improvements or declines (e.g., "+6 points" or "-8 points").
Key Features of the Life Score™
- Highlights: Personalized suggestions to focus on specific habits, like tracking water or increasing fruit intake.
- Current Status: Detailed ratings for individual categories with tips for improvement and recommended food sources.
Common Questions
Why do I have a low fish score if I’m allergic?
If you've noted allergies to both fish and shellfish, your score won't be penalized, if you have entered your allergy/preferences in the nutritional settings. Alternatively, use the fish tracker to log Omega-3 supplements as a replacement. Why is my strength training score low when using a partner app?
Exercises imported from some apps may not be fully compatible. Use Lifesum's exercise tracker for accurate results. Why can’t I retake the Health Test?
Once you log enough data, your score is calculated from your tracking habits rather than the test. This provides a more accurate reflection of your lifestyle.
Why Track Regularly?
Frequent tracking ensures a more precise and actionable Life Score™. The more data you log, the more tailored and beneficial the feedback becomes.
