It can be a bit tricky to know when and how to weigh the food that you eat and when you enter it as ingredients to a meal. So, how should you think around this?

We recommend that you weigh your food in the state in which you purchased it. Items such as pasta, rice, meat, fish and others can be tracked based on the package information.

However, you should only weigh the parts of the food that you actually consume, for example a banana without the peel and an avocado without the stone.

When you are tracking food and searching for items in the food database, please try to search using keywords like e.g.:

- raw
- cooked
- fried
- boiled
- steamed
- dried

This will make sure you get your food item in the requested preparation state.
